QUEENS JACKSON HEIGHTS TEEN KILLED IN APPARENT MURDER‑SUICIDE

In Jackson Heights early Wednesday, 18‑year‑old Keyriana Jimenez Rodriguez was found dead in her apartment with multiple gunshot wounds. Police arrived shortly after 1:45 a.m. to a 911 call reporting shots fired and discovered her inside a building on 84th Street near 34th Avenue. Her injuries to the head, torso and abdomen were fatal. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Not far from her body, officers found a 20‑year‑old man with a single gunshot wound to the head. He was also pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe he was her boyfriend and that he shot her before turning the gun on himself.

Detectives from the 115th Precinct and medical examiners are continuing their work, but early indications point to a domestic dispute that escalated into this tragedy. Neighbors say the couple often argued loudly, making other residents uneasy. “They were always fighting. It was terrible,” one neighbor said.

Keyriana’s family in the Dominican Republic were devastated when they learned of her death. Relatives identified her online and described her as a young woman full of promise whose life ended far too soon. Friends and relatives began raising money to help with funeral expenses.

The loss has shaken the Jackson Heights community, where people are struggling to make sense of the violence. Residents described Keyriana as bright and friendly, someone who talked about her plans and dreams. Now those dreams are gone, leaving questions and grief in their place.
