Kallen Omen, Bismarck: A 19-Year-Old’s Final Ride Ends in Tragedy on Main Avenue

A young man full of life never made it home Tuesday night. Kallen Omen, just 19 years old and from the small town of Sheyenne, North Dakota, was killed in a motorcycle crash on Main Avenue in Bismarck — and the community he left behind is absolutely heartbroken.

It happened fast. Around 9:14 p.m., Omen was riding his Kawasaki motorcycle westbound on Main Avenue when everything went wrong near the intersection of West Rosser Avenue. A Ford pickup truck, driven by 19-year-old Braxton Dollinger of Bismarck, had stopped and then moved northeast from Main Avenue onto Rosser Avenue. That’s when Omen’s bike slammed into the rear passenger side of the truck. The impact was devastating.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene moments after the collision. But there was nothing they could do. Kallen Omen was pronounced dead right there on Main Avenue, under the night sky, miles away from his hometown. He was just a teenager — barely getting started in life.

Traffic officers with the Bismarck Police Department took over the scene, working carefully through the evidence and piecing together exactly how a Tuesday night ride turned into something so final and so awful. The crash brought a significant stretch of the area to a standstill as investigators processed everything they could find.

Right now, no charges have been filed and no traffic violations have officially been pinned to either driver. Authorities say the investigation is still very much active, with officers continuing to chase down leads and review the evidence. Whether speed, visibility, timing, or something else entirely played a role — that’s still being figured out.

No one else was reported hurt in the crash. Just Kallen. Just one family ripped apart. Just one community left asking why.

Back in Sheyenne, a tight-knit town where everybody pretty much knows everybody, the loss of a 19-year-old is the kind of thing that cuts deep. Friends, family, and neighbors are mourning hard right now, holding onto memories of a kid who had his whole future ahead of him. The people who loved Kallen Omen are waiting — waiting for answers, waiting for closure, and waiting to understand how a simple Tuesday night ride on Main Avenue became the last one he ever took.
