James Bolter III, Papillion: Bellevue Community Mourns After Fatal Officer-Involved Shooting

The Bellevue community is grieving the loss of James Bolter III after a chaotic series of events ended with an officer-involved shooting Friday night in Papillion, Nebraska. Bolter, 38, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital after being critically wounded during an exchange of gunfire with police.

According to investigators, the incident began near Ming’s Restaurant in the Tara Plaza area, close to East Centennial Road and North Washington Street. Authorities said reports came in about shots being fired outside the restaurant, prompting officers to rush to the scene.
