Bryce McClain, Benton County: Husband and Wife Killed Together After Harley-Davidson Leaves Highway

BENTON COUNTY, Ark. — What began as a ride on a clear Saturday afternoon ended in heartbreak for a Northwest Arkansas community after a husband and wife from Tontitown lost their lives in a devastating motorcycle crash along U.S. Highway 412.

Authorities identified the victims as 49-year-old Bryce McClain and 40-year-old Megan McClain. The couple was riding together on a 2014 Harley-Davidson motorcycle when the fatal crash happened near Littrell Road on Saturday afternoon.

According to investigators, the motorcycle was traveling eastbound on U.S. Highway 412 at around 2:40 p.m. when it suddenly left the roadway. The motorcycle then struck a cable barrier running alongside the highway. Officials said no other vehicles were involved in the collision.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash. Despite their efforts, Bryce and Megan McClain were pronounced dead from injuries suffered in the wreck.

Investigators noted that weather conditions were clear and the roadway was dry when the crash occurred. Those findings ruled out rain or poor road conditions as immediate factors in the deadly incident.

State police said Bryce McClain was operating the motorcycle at the time of the crash, while Megan McClain was riding as a passenger. What caused the motorcycle to leave the roadway remains under investigation.

Trooper Noah Fricke of the Arkansas State Police conducted the initial investigation and continues to review the circumstances surrounding the crash. Authorities have not yet announced whether speed, a mechanical problem, or another factor may have contributed to the incident.

After the crash, the bodies of Bryce and Megan McClain were taken to the Benton County Coroner’s Office. Family members were notified as investigators worked to piece together what happened during the final moments of the couple’s ride.

The tragedy has left relatives, friends, and neighbors in Tontitown mourning the sudden loss of a husband and wife whose lives ended together on a stretch of highway that turned deadly in a matter of seconds.
