A quiet early morning in Mobile turned tragic when a woman walking along a dark stretch of roadway was struck and killed by an 18-wheeler. The victim was identified as Cameron Norwood, 40, according to authorities.
The fatal crash happened in the early hours of June 7 on Rangeline Road, a busy corridor in southern Mobile. Police said officers were dispatched at approximately 2:26 a.m. to the 7400 block of Rangeline Road after receiving reports of a traffic accident involving a pedestrian and a commercial truck.
When first responders arrived, they found Norwood at the scene. Despite emergency efforts, she was pronounced dead where the collision occurred.
