Sterling Ray Pierce, Livonia: Family of Four Lost in One Devastating Evening

The quiet city of Livonia, Michigan, is grieving after a heartbreaking family tragedy claimed the lives of Sterling Ray Pierce, 58, Holly Marie Kimball, 53, Tanner Ray Pierce, 22, and Nevaeh May Jaslynn Finch, 21. The four victims were fatally shot Tuesday evening at a home on Rensellors Street, leaving relatives, friends, and neighbors struggling to understand what happened.

Police were called to the residence shortly before 6 p.m. after reports of gunfire inside the home. When officers arrived, they encountered a 25-year-old man outside the residence. Authorities said he surrendered peacefully and indicated that he had shot members of his family.

Investigators determined that all four victims died from gunshot wounds. Sterling Pierce and Holly Marie Kimball were discovered in the backyard of the property. Inside the home, officers found Tanner Pierce and his girlfriend, Nevaeh Finch. Police said the younger couple was located in a bedroom.

The loss has shaken many people who knew the victims. Sterling and Holly were parents whose lives were deeply connected to their family. Tanner was remembered as a young man with his future ahead of him, while Nevaeh was a beloved girlfriend, friend, and family member whose life ended far too soon.

Authorities revealed that the suspect lived at the residence. Investigators have said there appeared to be a contentious relationship between the suspect and his parents. However, officials emphasized that they have not yet determined a motive and continue to examine what led to the deadly violence.

Police also noted that they had no record of previous calls for service at the home and that the suspect had no known criminal history. A weapon believed to have been used in the shooting was recovered from the scene as detectives continued gathering evidence.

The case remains under review by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office. While the suspect remains in custody, authorities have continued working through the details of the investigation before moving forward with formal charges.

For many residents, the tragedy is difficult to comprehend. Livonia has long been viewed as a quiet community, making the deaths of four family members in a single incident especially painful. Neighbors have described the event as one of the most shocking incidents the city has experienced in recent years.

As loved ones mourn, memories of Sterling, Holly, Tanner, and Nevaeh continue to live on. They are being remembered not for the violence that ended their lives, but for the relationships, love, and moments they shared with those closest to them. Their absence leaves a deep void that will not soon be forgotten.
