A heartbreaking shooting in Baton Rouge has claimed the life of 17-year-old Joshua Robinson, a student at Scotlandville Magnet High School, leaving family members, classmates, and the wider community searching for answers.
According to authorities, the shooting happened shortly after 12:18 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Harding Boulevard and Plank Road. Officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to reports of gunfire and arrived to find two people suffering from gunshot wounds.

Emergency crews quickly rushed both victims to local hospitals. One victim was reported to be in critical condition, while the second victim fought for his life after sustaining severe injuries during the violence.
That victim was later identified as Joshua Robinson, a rising senior at Scotlandville Magnet High School. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Robinson died from his injuries at the hospital.
A second victim survived the shooting and remains under medical care. Police have not publicly released that person’s identity. Authorities said the injuries suffered by the surviving victim are not believed to be life-threatening.
