A quiet neighborhood night took a tragic turn when a local man lost his life on West 23rd Avenue. Tyrondrick Dobbs, a 37-year-old resident, was out in a yard during the early hours of Tuesday morning. Around 2:00 a.m., things went completely south when an argument broke out in the dark.
For Dobbs, what started as a regular night quickly escalated into a deadly situation. He found himself wrapped up in a heated confrontation with another male individual outside the residence. Neighbors didn’t know what sparked the dispute, but the tension filled the midnight air.

A witness nearby noticed the commotion when the verbal dispute suddenly turned physical. The individual reported hearing a brief, aggressive scuffle right there in the yard. It was a fast and chaotic struggle that showed things were spinning completely out of control.
Just moments into the physical altercation, the witness heard a disturbing sound cut through the night. It was a quiet pop that sounded exactly like a muffled gunshot. Immediately after the shot rang out, a heavy silence fell over the entire area.
The witness looked out and spotted Dobbs lying completely still and unresponsive on the ground. By then, the other man involved in the fight had already vanished from the property. He managed to slip away into the shadows well before anyone could call for help.
Pine Bluff police officers rushed to the scene at 1316 W. 23rd Avenue after getting the emergency call. They quickly secured the yard and called for urgent medical backups to save the man. An EASI Ambulance crew arrived shortly after to transport the victim.
Paramedics hurried Dobbs over to the Jefferson Regional Medical Center for emergency care. Medical staff discovered he had suffered a critical gunshot wound from the encounter. Sadly, Dobbs was pronounced dead at the hospital, leaving detectives to hunt for his killer.
