Javion Clinton, Jackson: Promising teen killed weeks before moving away for a better life.

Javion Clinton had his whole life mapped out. The 19-year-old young man was just months away from packing his bags and chasing a major opportunity. He wanted to build something real for himself, but those big dreams came to a sudden end on a Thursday afternoon on Woody Drive.

The call came into emergency dispatchers around 12:50 p.m. Neighbors reported a brutal aggravated assault and the sound of rapid gunfire echoing down the block. When Jackson police officers finally pulled up to the 900 block, they found a chaotic scene. Javion was lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics could not do anything for him, and he was pronounced dead right there.

Back home, his family is completely heartbroken. They are left remembering a teenager who brought massive amounts of joy into their lives. Loved ones describe Javion as an incredibly loving, highly intelligent, and funny young man. He always knew how to make people laugh, and everyone knew he had an incredibly bright future ahead of him.

Javion grew up fast and worked hard to make his family proud. He was one of seven siblings, always looking out for his brothers and sisters. He recently hit a major milestone by graduating from Forest Hill High School. It was a proud moment for the entire family, and it was supposed to be just the beginning.

He did not waste any time after getting his diploma. Javion quickly landed a job at the local Coca-Cola plant, putting in long hours to save up money. He had a grand plan to leave Mississippi in September. His goal was to move to the oil fields in Texas, where he could secure a high-paying job and build a completely new life.

While the family mourns, the Jackson Police Department is trying to piece together what happened. Police Chief RaShall Brackney revealed that investigators found a significant clue in the yard. Officers recovered several weapons hidden in the backyard of the residence. Investigators firmly believe that this was not a lone shooter situation.

Right now, detectives are working around the clock to solve this murder. They are gathering forensic evidence and interviewing anyone who might have seen something. The family is pleading for answers, and the police are urging the community to speak up. No suspects are in custody yet, and a grieving family is left wondering why their boy was taken so soon.
