Brandon King was well-loved by his family. He lived on Fox Tree Lane in a peaceful neighborhood. On Friday afternoon, his life came to a sudden and violent end. A domestic dispute turned into a shooting inside his home.
The trouble started around 1:00 p.m. Neighbors did not expect anything bad to happen on a normal Friday. Then, gunshots cut through the quiet air. Police officers and DeSoto County deputies rushed to the house at 1:06 p.m.
When the officers arrived, they found a heartbreaking scene. Brandon King was lying on the ground outside. He was suffering from severe gunshot wounds. Officers tried their best to give him medical aid right away. Sadly, his injuries were too bad, and he died right there at the scene.
A woman was also inside the house during the gunfire. She suffered a gunshot wound to her hand. First responders treated her at the house and released her shortly after. Police have not said exactly how she is connected to King.
Three young children were trapped inside the home when the shots were fired. They heard the noise and faced the terror of the moment. Fortunately, none of the children were physically hurt. Officers safely removed them from the house and took them to a secure place.
