It all happened on a Thursday morning right around 7:24 AM when the morning commute was just getting started. Wesley was heading westbound down Highway 18, driving his 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Out of nowhere, things went completely sideways near Easley. For reasons that nobody has figured out yet, his truck drifted across the center left-turn lane.
That single moment started a massive chain reaction in the eastbound lane. Wesley’s truck went straight into the path of a massive 2025 Freightliner semi-truck. The impact was incredibly violent. It actually pushed the giant Freightliner all the way into the outside lane, where it slammed into a third vehicle, a 2018 GMC Yukon. It turned a regular morning into a chaotic disaster zone in seconds.
First responders rushed to the scene immediately to try and save lives. The weather was completely clear and the roads were dry, making the whole situation feel even more surreal. Paramedics did everything they could for Wesley right there on the asphalt. They rushed him over to St. Bernards Hospital, but his injuries were just too severe, and he passed away there.
