Nicholas Kuhl was a 43-year-old man whose life came to a sudden and violent end on a normal Friday afternoon. The local community is now reeling from the shock of a senseless tragedy.
It all started around lunchtime when concerned folks asked the police to check on him. Officers headed over to an apartment complex located in the 1000 block of North Byrne Road.

When Toledo police entered the apartment at around 12:45 p.m., they walked right into a nightmare. They discovered Kuhl inside the home suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
First responders rushed to the scene as fast as they could to save his life. Sadly, it was too late, and Kuhl was pronounced dead right there at the scene.
Detectives immediately kicked off a full homicide investigation to find out who pulled the trigger. They did not have to wait very long to find a major lead in the case.
Just hours after the shooting, police spotted Kuhl’s stolen vehicle driving down the road. They pulled the car over and arrested 41-year-old Brayon Syph, who had a pistol on him.
Authorities officially charged Syph with murder and felonious assault, though he is presumed innocent until proven guilty. Meanwhile, investigators clarified that a woman named Jenny Fiddyment Wiens has no connection to this case at all.
