WEST PALM BEACH CRASH KILLS DRIVER EJECTED FROM SUV NEAR AIRPORT

West Palm Beach — Bradley J. Wloczewski, 32, was killed Sunday evening after the SUV he was driving on Southern Boulevard skidded off the road, flipped over and threw him out of the vehicle, according to local authorities. He died at the scene in the 5:13 p.m. crash near Perimeter Road, close to Palm Beach International Airport.

Wloczewski was heading west in a 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe when he drifted over the curb and onto a sidewalk. Witnesses and investigators say he tried to correct his path but over‑steered. The vehicle rotated violently, struck a metal guardrail and rolled over before ejecting him. His death stunned family and friends who gathered nearby after the crash.

Two women were riding with Wloczewski. The 29‑year‑old passenger from West Palm Beach, who was wearing a seatbelt, walked away with minor injuries. The other passenger, a 28‑year‑old woman from Hendersonville, Tennessee, was seriously hurt and taken to a trauma center.

A piece of the guardrail blasted off during the crash and struck another vehicle, a newer SUV driven by a 41‑year‑old West Palm Beach man. He pulled over and was treated for minor injuries. First responders worked for hours to clear the wreckage and document the scene while investigators pieced together how the crash unfolded.

Neighbors described hearing the roar of the crash and seeing emergency lights flood the usually busy stretch of road that runs just south of the airport. Southern Boulevard is a major artery in Palm Beach County, linking neighborhoods and local business districts, and the crash triggered traffic snarls through the evening rush.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews pronounced Wloczewski dead at the scene and rushed the injured to nearby hospitals. The sheriff’s traffic homicide unit continues to investigate, and no charges have been announced. Friends and relatives set up photos and flowers at a makeshift memorial near the guardrail where he lost control.

Authorities have reminded drivers to stay alert on Southern Boulevard, a road that sees heavy commuter and tourist traffic year‑round, especially this time of year when seasonal residents fill the streets. There is growing concern in the community about roadway safety after this and other recent serious accidents.
