In the early hours of Wednesday, a routine drive to work turned into heartbreak for a quiet community in Bluebank, Kentucky. Felicia Rose, 43, a Fleming County resident known to friends as a hard-working neighbor, died after her vehicle veered off Kentucky Route 32 and overturned near the intersection of Morehead Road and Farris Branch Road just before 5:30 a.m. this week.
Deputies from the Fleming County Sheriff’s Office were among the first to respond. According to investigators, Rose was heading toward Morehead for her morning commute when her car left the roadway, hit an embankment and rolled over. The force of the crash threw her from the vehicle.

Emergency medical crews arrived within minutes and worked to stabilize her at the scene. She was rushed to Fleming County Hospital, but doctors there could not save her. Officials confirmed she died from the injuries she suffered in the crash.
Authorities haven’t yet said what caused the vehicle to leave the road. At this point, there is no indication that any other cars were involved, and no additional injuries were reported. The sheriff’s office is continuing to examine the scene and review the circumstances, including roadway conditions and possible contributing factors.
For people who knew her, the news was a sudden blow. Friends and neighbors described Rose as someone who took pride in her work and cared about her community. In conversations around town, her loss is being felt as a reminder of how fragile life can be — especially in those quiet moments before dawn.
Local law enforcement has used the tragedy to urge drivers to take extra care on early morning roads. They reminded motorists that visibility can be poor and conditions can shift quickly at that time of day, and encouraged everyone to stay alert, follow speed limits, and watch the road.
As the investigation continues, authorities say they will release more information if additional details emerge. For now, Fleming County is mourning the loss of a resident whose day began like any other — a commute that ended in unforeseen tragedy.
