VICCO, Ky. — Emilynn Clark, 16, Killed in ATV Crash on Oakwood Avenue

The small town of Vicco is grieving after 16-year-old Emilynn Clark lost her life Saturday evening in an ATV crash on Oakwood Avenue. The teenager, a student at Perry County Central High School, was riding as a passenger when the vehicle went down. What should have been an ordinary weekend night turned into a heartbreak that now hangs heavy over this tight-knit community.

Authorities say four people were on the ATV at the time of the crash. According to Perry County Sheriff Joe Engle, the group included two female juveniles and two adult men. Emilynn was among the passengers. Investigators confirmed that the juvenile who was driving the ATV has been charged with DUI.

One of the adult male passengers was seriously hurt in the wreck. He was flown from the scene to a trauma center for treatment. His condition has not been fully detailed, but officials described his injuries as severe enough to require immediate air transport.

Inside the halls of Perry County Central High School, the loss is being felt in every classroom. The school released a statement saying the community is heartbroken over the sudden death of one of its students. The message spoke of deep sadness and asked that prayers and support be lifted for Emilynn’s family, her friends, and the entire Commodore family.

Counselors will be on campus Monday morning to help students and staff process what happened. Grief does not follow a schedule, and school leaders say they want to give everyone space and support as they try to make sense of the tragedy.

Friends describe Emilynn as a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. Now, instead of planning for the week ahead, her loved ones are planning how to say goodbye. In a place like Vicco, news travels fast, and sorrow travels even faster. The community is leaning on each other, holding tight to memories that will have to last a lifetime.

Her life was short, but it left a mark. In living rooms, in classrooms, and along Oakwood Avenue where the crash happened, there is a quiet reminder of how fragile a single moment can be.
