Arlington Highway 360 Crash: Joshua Gray, 32, Killed in Evening Motorcycle Collision

The northbound lanes of Highway 360 in Arlington turned deadly on the evening of March 2 when a motorcycle crash claimed the life of 32-year-old Joshua Gray. The accident unfolded near Six Flags Drive around 7:30 p.m., in one of the city’s busiest traffic corridors, leaving a grieving family now struggling to bring him home for burial.

Police say Gray was riding his motorcycle northbound in the 500 block of State Highway 360 when the crash happened. Investigators believe he was traveling at a high speed as traffic moved through the stretch of highway near Arlington’s entertainment district. In a matter of seconds, the ride turned tragic.

According to authorities, Gray’s motorcycle first collided with a Chevrolet Impala that was in the process of changing lanes. The impact sent the bike into the path of another vehicle, a 2023 Honda Accord. The second collision caused Gray to lose control of the motorcycle.

The force of the crash threw him from the bike and onto the roadway. Officers arriving at the scene found Gray lying in the road. Despite emergency response efforts, he died from his injuries at the scene.

Police said the drivers of the other vehicles involved stayed at the location and cooperated with investigators. No serious injuries were reported among the other motorists. Authorities also said that, at this stage of the investigation, no criminal charges are expected.

Investigators have not said whether alcohol or impairment played any role in the crash. Traffic investigators continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision as they piece together exactly what led to the fatal chain of events.

In the days since the crash, Gray’s family has been focused on an emotional and financial challenge. His loved ones say the sudden loss has left them facing overwhelming funeral costs during an already painful time.

A fundraiser organized by Gray’s spouse, Arely Ortiz Castaneda, is asking for support from friends and the wider community. She said the family hopes to transport Gray’s body from Texas to Memphis, Tennessee, the place he called home and where many of his relatives live.

Castaneda wrote that bringing Gray back to Memphis would allow his family to lay him to rest surrounded by loved ones who knew him best. The unexpected cost of transportation and burial arrangements, she said, has placed a heavy burden on the grieving family.

For now, the investigation into the crash continues, while those who knew Joshua Gray remember a life cut short on a stretch of highway that suddenly became the site of heartbreak.
