RICHMOND Kentucky Wilgreen Lake: Ronnie Rollins and Anthony Hoover Found Dead in Quiet Waters

Late Wednesday night in Richmond, Kentucky, what should have been a calm evening at Wilgreen Lake turned into a grim discovery. Around 10:54 p.m., emergency crews responded to a request near the Wilgreen Lake boat ramp. When they reached the far side of the dock, officers found two bodies in the water.

The Madison County Coroner’s Office confirmed the identities of the men early Thursday morning. One was 64‑year‑old Ronnie Rollins. The other was 63‑year‑old Anthony Hoover. Both were already deceased when authorities arrived. There were no signs of life, and first responders pronounced them dead at the scene.

Rollins and Hoover were found lying in the lake, just across from the dock area where boaters and walkers often enjoy sunset views. The coroner’s office quickly arranged for the bodies to be taken to Frankfort for autopsies. Officials say the examinations will reveal the official causes of death, but full results are not yet available.

Right now, Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife are handling the investigation. Few details have been released about how the men ended up in the water or what might have led to their deaths. There are no public updates on whether foul play is suspected.

Friends and neighbors described Rollins and Hoover as familiar faces in the community. Some recalled seeing them around town and at local events. Their sudden deaths have left people in Richmond saddened and searching for answers.

Local authorities continue to work through the early stages of the case. Investigators are asking anyone with information about the men’s last known movements to come forward. As the community awaits more answers, uncertainty and shock remain.
