Albert Humphrey, Royal Palm Beach: Family devastated after motorcycle impact sends rider flying over 200 feet

Royal Palm Beach, Florida — The night was supposed to be ordinary, but it ended in a way nobody in this community will forget. Albert Humphrey, 39, lost his life in a brutal motorcycle crash at the intersection of State Road 7 and Victoria Groves Boulevard on May 30, just after 9:30 p.m.

He was riding a Suzuki motorcycle southbound in the center lane of State Road 7 when the crash unfolded. At the same time, a 56-year-old woman from Wellington was in an SUV attempting a turn across traffic, moving from northbound to southbound at Victoria Groves Boulevard.

Investigators say the turning maneuver and the motorcycle’s path converged in a split second. The motorcycle slammed into the rear of the SUV with extreme force. The impact was so severe it tore the bike apart and scattered debris across the road.

Humphrey was thrown from his motorcycle and launched more than 200 feet through the air before coming to rest on the roadway. Witnesses and emergency responders described a chaotic scene, with wreckage spread across multiple lanes and traffic coming to a sudden stop.

Palm Beach County Fire Rescue arrived quickly and began emergency treatment on the scene. Paramedics worked to stabilize him before rushing him to St. Mary’s Medical Center for advanced care.

Despite aggressive life-saving efforts, Humphrey was pronounced dead around 10:10 p.m. His injuries were too severe to survive, leaving responders and bystanders shaken by the violence of the crash.

News of his death spread quickly through Royal Palm Beach. Friends and family are now left grappling with the sudden loss, remembering him as a man whose presence was steady and familiar in their lives.

Authorities continue to review the exact sequence of events. But for those who knew him, the focus has shifted away from the crash itself and toward the life he lived, and the empty space left behind.

Albert Humphrey will be remembered with deep respect and sorrow in a community still trying to process how one moment on a highway changed everything.
