Clarksburg, West Virginia Crash Claims Life of Teen Landon Isaiah Jackson in Early Morning Wreck

Clarksburg is waking up to the heartbreak of a young life lost after a single‑vehicle crash early Wednesday morning. Sixteen‑year‑old Landon Isaiah Jackson died when the Honda SUV he was driving hit a railroad bridge support on U.S. Route 19 in the Edgewood Addition area just before 4 a.m. The crash left no other cars involved and no passengers inside his vehicle.

Police say Jackson’s SUV ran off the road and struck the concrete abutment. By the time first responders arrived, he had already died at the scene. Investigators are still working to determine exactly how the crash unfolded, but no foul play or other vehicles were reported. Jackson was alone and no one else was injured.

Landon was born May 10, 2009, in Buckhannon and grew up in Clarksburg with his loving family. Those who knew him describe him as a devoted son and a hard worker. He was homeschooled but also attended classes at United Technical Center. He balanced school with a job at the Bridgeport Public Library, where he was known as polite and dependable.

Outside of work and study, Jackson made time for the things he loved. His dad often took him to play and referee airsoft games at MK Airsoft, a hobby they shared. He also kept in shape at Anytime Fitness and treasured any moment spent with family. Friends remember Landon as someone who could light up a room and always made time to laugh.

He is survived by his parents, his sister, stepbrothers, grandparents and a circle of close friends who are struggling to make sense of such sudden loss. The community around him is rallying, remembering his gentle nature and passion for life. Funeral arrangements are being overseen by Davis‑Weaver Funeral Home, and a Celebration of Life service is planned at Horizons Church in Mount Clare this Saturday.

In a town still quiet in the early hours of the morning when the crash happened, neighbors and classmates alike are left grappling with grief. Jackson’s death is a stark reminder of how fragile life can be, and how a split‑second event can echo through a whole community.
