A devastating traffic collision turned a typical Thursday evening into a nightmare on one of the busiest freeways in the Bay Area. The fatal accident occurred on Highway 101 right near the San Francisco International Airport area. Emergency crews rushed to the scene after receiving frantic calls about a severe vehicle rollover.
Alan Casey was a kind, vibrant, and compassionate 28-year-old man who had his whole life ahead of him. His sudden and tragic passing has now left a massive void in the hearts of his family members and close friends. He was known for bringing immense warmth and joy to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
The tragic incident unfolded shortly before 7:00 p.m. during the evening commute. Alan was driving his Toyota Camry southbound on the highway near Millbrae Avenue. Traffic was moving at typical freeway speeds when the unexpected collision took place in a split second.
Preliminary reports from investigators indicate that Alan’s Camry clipped the rear of a white Honda Accord. The force of the impact caused the Camry to lose control completely. The vehicle overturned violently and rolled over, ejecting Alan from the car onto the roadway.
First responders arrived at the scene within minutes of the crash. Firefighters, law enforcement officers, and paramedics worked quickly to provide emergency medical assistance to the young driver. Alan was suffering from major, life-threatening injuries when they found him.
