The shooter was his own nephew, Brandon Maurer. Investigators say a heated domestic dispute broke out between the two men. It quickly escalated into a deadly situation. Brandon turned the gun on himself after shooting his uncle.
Paramedics found Brandon alive but critically injured from a self-inflicted wound. They rushed him over to Abington Hospital. Doctors worked quickly in the ER, but it was too late. Brandon died a short time later at the hospital.
