Houston: Overturned 18-wheeler crushes passenger car into an early morning fiery inferno.

The morning commute turned into an absolute nightmare for two people on the highway. A regular drive became a tragedy before the sun even came up. Two individuals lost their lives in a split second when a massive commercial truck tipped over completely.

It all went down right around 5 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the freeway. The victims were just driving along their usual route when a massive 18-wheeler lost control. The giant rig flipped directly onto their passenger car and trapped them underneath the heavy load.

The impact was devastating enough on its own but things got worse immediately. The crushed passenger car burst into flames almost right away. Witnesses could only watch in horror as the inferno grew rapidly and left absolutely no chance for survival.

First responders rushed to the scene as fast as they could push through. Houston firefighters battled the intense flames and tried to reach anyone trapped inside the wreckage. Sadly they quickly confirmed that both occupants of the car died right there at the scene.

Because of the intensity of the fire and the ongoing investigation authorities have not released the identities of the victims yet. Families are left waiting for answers while traffic investigators piece together what happened. Officers are working hard to identify the souls lost in the blaze.

The horrific crash completely paralyzed the morning rush hour for thousands of commuters. Crews blocked off the right shoulder, the right lane, and three entire center lanes. Drivers faced massive backups stretching for miles as emergency workers cleared the charred vehicle.

Investigators are still looking deep into what triggered this awful highway accident. They have not said why the big rig flipped over or if another vehicle caused the wreck. For now a community mourns two unknown neighbors who never made it to their destination.
