Turray Simms, D.C.: Heartbroken Mother Faces Nightmare as 19-Year-Old Son Fatally Shot in Early Morning Brutality

It was a quiet Monday morning when street violence claimed another young life in the nation’s capital. A teenager is dead, and a local family is completely shattered.

Turray Simms, a 19-year-old man from Northeast D.C., was the young soul taken too soon. He had his whole life ahead of him before everything changed in an instant.

Police officers got a call around 4:30 a.m. about a person lying on the ground. They rushed out to the 2500 block of Pennsylvania Avenue SE and found Simms bleeding heavily from several gunshot wounds.

Paramedics arrived quickly and loaded him into an ambulance. They tried everything they could to save his life on the way to the hospital, but his injuries were just too severe, and doctors pronounced him dead.

Now, his mother, Latoya Bolar, is living every parent’s worst nightmare. She is forced to navigate the agonizing pain of losing her teenage son while trying to stay strong for his younger siblings.

To help carry the heavy burden, the family started an online fundraiser titled “Honoring Turray Simms with a Loving Farewell.” They need all the help they can get to cover the sudden and expensive funeral costs.

The community is mourning a life cut short, and everyone wants answers. Meanwhile, the police are offering a massive $25,000 reward to anyone who can help them find out who pulled the trigger.
