Wichita Falls Seymour Highway Crash Leaves Larry Don Armstrong Dead After Morning Bicycle Collision

Wichita Falls Seymour Highway was the scene of a deadly crash early Friday morning that ended the life of a local bicyclist, Larry Don Armstrong, after a collision with a pickup truck in the 1800 block area.

It happened around 8:20 a.m. on April 10, 2026, near the intersection of Seymour Highway and Denver Street. Emergency dispatchers received multiple reports of a vehicle striking a bicyclist, prompting officers to rush to the location.

When police arrived, Armstrong was found on the sidewalk suffering from severe injuries. First responders immediately stepped in and began life-saving efforts while fire and EMS crews took over shortly after.

He was quickly transported to a nearby hospital, but despite medical intervention, he was later pronounced dead. The news left a heavy scene behind as investigators began piecing together what happened.

Preliminary findings show Armstrong was riding his bicycle eastbound in the right lane of Seymour Highway. At the same time, a 2019 Dodge pickup truck was traveling in the same direction behind him.

The driver told investigators he became focused on a vehicle passing in the left lane and did not see Armstrong ahead before the impact. A witness confirmed seeing the pickup strike the bicyclist, causing him to be thrown from the bike.

Authorities confirmed the driver is cooperating fully as the investigation continues. Armstrong’s family has already been notified, while the crash investigation unit works to determine the full circumstances surrounding the collision.
