Thursday was supposed to be just another ordinary afternoon in Montgomery, Alabama. But shortly before 4:30 p.m., everything changed at the busy intersection of Ann Street and Interstate 85, where two vehicles collided with enough force to change at least two families forever. Emergency dispatchers lit up with calls, and within minutes, officers and fire medics were racing to the scene of what would turn out to be a deadly wreck.
When first responders got there, they found both drivers still pinned inside their mangled vehicles. One of those drivers was Tevin Massey. His loved ones identified him, and the news they got coming out of that scene was nothing short of gutting. He was pulled from the wreck in life-threatening condition and rushed to a nearby hospital with medics doing everything possible to keep him alive. The injuries he sustained in that collision were just too severe.
Tevin Massey did not survive. Despite the efforts of emergency personnel and hospital staff, he died from his injuries after being transported. The other driver — a woman — was also taken to the hospital after being extracted from her vehicle. Authorities said her injuries were minor and non-life-threatening, and she is expected to make a full recovery. The Montgomery Police Department has not released her identity to the public.
As of now, investigators have not revealed what caused the two vehicles to collide in the first place.
