Brunswick County: Paisley and Landon Killed in Early Morning Leland House Fire

A quiet home in Brunswick County turned into a heartbreaking scene early Thursday morning after a sudden fire tore through a house on Grist Creek Wynd in Leland, killing two very young children and leaving the rest of their family badly hurt.

Authorities said the fire broke out in the early hours of March 12. Deputies and firefighters rushed to the home after emergency calls reported a structure fire with people trapped inside. The call came in around 5:30 a.m., sending crews scrambling toward the neighborhood as smoke and flames began swallowing the home

When firefighters arrived, they moved quickly to bring the blaze under control. Crews managed to contain the fire shortly after 6 a.m., but the situation inside the house had already turned tragic. A 3-year-old girl and her 18-month-old brother were found dead after the fire.

The children were later identified by family supporters as Paisley, age three, and Landon, just a year and a half old. Their deaths have shaken the community, especially given how young the siblings were.

Three other people from the home survived but were seriously injured. Authorities said two adults and another person were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. Family members say the children’s father and their 8-year-old sibling suffered critical burns and are now fighting for their lives as doctors work to stabilize them.

As news of the tragedy spread, friends and community members quickly began organizing support for the grieving family. A GoFundMe fundraiser was launched to help cover funeral costs, medical bills, and the long road ahead for the survivors who lost both their home and two beloved children in a single morning.

Investigators are still working to determine what caused the fire. State investigators have joined local fire officials and sheriff’s deputies in examining the scene as the community waits for answers.

For now, neighbors and loved ones are left mourning the loss of Paisley and Landon, two little lives taken far too soon in a fire that forever changed their family’s story.
