Tim Crum, Gracey: Beloved family man dies after devastating intersection crash on US 68.

The town of Hopkinsville is dealing with a massive heartbreak this week. A terrible car accident took the life of a local man on Tuesday afternoon. Folks in the area are still trying to process the sudden loss.

The victim was 55-year-old Tim Crum. He was a familiar face around town and highly respected by everyone who knew him. His life was cut short in a split second on a busy stretch of highway.

The crash happened right around 1:20 p.m. Tim was driving his vehicle and attempting to cross U.S. Highway 68. As he pulled through the intersection at Kentucky Route 1026, an oncoming SUV struck his vehicle.

The impact was incredibly violent and forced both vehicles completely off the road. Emergency crews rushed to the scene within minutes. First responders immediately started performing CPR on Tim to save his life.

Hopkinsville EMS quickly loaded Tim into an ambulance and rushed him over to Jennie Stuart Health. The medical staff did absolutely everything they could to turn things around. Sadly, his injuries were just too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Now, a heavy cloud of grief is hanging over the entire Christian County community. Tim was the kind of guy who touched a lot of lives over the years. Friends and neighbors are coming together to share their favorite memories of him.
