A 12-year-old boy, Lucas Reyna, his mother Maria Rodriguez, 50, and his grandmother Teresa Rodriguez, 78, were all caught in the deadly impact that unfolded near a busy intersection in the city.
It happened around 8:45 p.m. near West Wheatland Road and South Cedar Ridge Drive. A Toyota Corolla carrying the family was struck in a collision involving a Chrysler 300. The force of the crash left both vehicles heavily damaged and scattered across the roadway, stopping normal life in the area in an instant.
Two other people, Ronnie Coleman, 21, and Kishawn Copeland, 20, were identified as the suspected drivers involved in the street racing activity before the crash.
