A woman is in police custody after a fatal stabbing Tuesday afternoon at an apartment complex on Patton Circle in Greenville. The incident left 26-year-old Qua Suggs dead and set off an active investigation that is still unfolding.
Greenville Police officers were called to the 700 block of Patton Circle just before 4:30 p.m. for what was first reported as a domestic disturbance. While officers were en route, they received updated information that a stabbing had occurred at the scene.
When officers arrived, they found Suggs suffering from multiple stab wounds inside the apartment complex. Emergency responders attempted lifesaving measures right there at the scene. Despite those efforts, Suggs was pronounced deceased.

Police confirmed that a woman was taken into custody for questioning in connection with the stabbing. Investigators stated that the suspect and Suggs were known to one another, pointing to a personal connection rather than a random attack.
Authorities stressed that the incident appears to be isolated. They assured residents that there is no ongoing danger to the public. Still, the presence of police vehicles and investigators marked a heavy afternoon for those living nearby.
The department’s Criminal Investigations Division has assumed responsibility for the case. Detectives are continuing to gather physical evidence and speak with witnesses as they work to determine exactly what led to the deadly confrontation. No charges have been formally announced at this time.
Police are urging anyone who may have information to contact the Greenville Police Department or submit anonymous tips through local crime lines. As investigators sort through the details, the case remains active, and the community waits for answers about what happened inside that apartment on Patton Circle.
