Nicholas Daley I-24 West Split: 35-Year-Old Murfreesboro rider killed after a sudden hit-and-run crash on the interstate.

It happened on Saturday evening, June 6, just before 5:00 p.m. Traffic was already heavy near the I-24 west and I-59 south split when everything turned violent in seconds.

Nicholas Daley, 35, was riding his motorcycle through the area when a red or brown sedan came up alongside him. Investigators say the car struck the right side of his bike without warning.

The impact forced him off the roadway. The motorcycle was pushed hard toward the left shoulder and into the median, leaving Daley with almost no time to recover.

After being knocked off balance, his bike slammed into the end of a guardrail. That final impact caused catastrophic injuries.

Emergency crews rushed to the scene within minutes. They worked quickly, giving him life-saving treatment before rushing him to a nearby hospital.

Despite those efforts, Daley did not survive. Doctors later confirmed he had died from his injuries.

Back on the interstate, traffic came to a standstill. Multiple lanes were shut down as investigators and first responders took over the scene, stretching delays across state lines.

Georgia State Patrol confirmed the driver of the sedan never stopped. The vehicle kept moving westbound on I-24, disappearing into traffic.

Investigators are still working the case and asking anyone who saw the crash or the vehicle involved to come forward.
