Houston turned tense on a Saturday afternoon when a shooting at a west-side strip center ended in the death of 39-year-old Sean Bree. It happened in Houston, where police say the scene unfolded quickly and without a clear explanation.
Officers with the Houston Police Department responded around 1 p.m. on June 6 after reports of gunfire in the 10000 block of Belknap Road, near Bissonnet and Eldridge. When they arrived, they found Bree suffering from a gunshot wound.

Emergency crews rushed him to a nearby hospital. Despite efforts to save him, he was later pronounced dead. The sudden loss has left investigators piecing together what happened in the minutes leading up to the shooting.
Police say early information from the scene was limited. There was no immediate motive and no clear suspect description released at the time of the initial response.
Detectives later reviewed surveillance footage from the strip center and nearby areas. That review helped them identify two men who may have been present shortly after the shooting.
Those individuals were named as 23-year-old Iddris Umaru and 22-year-old Axzey Mojica. Police have not filed charges against either man, but both are now considered persons of interest.
Investigators believe the two may have information that could help explain what led to the shooting. Authorities are actively trying to locate them while continuing to gather witness statements and additional video evidence.
The case remains open, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be shared directly with the Houston Police Department or through Crime Stoppers anonymously.
