St. Martin Parish: Jamison Phillips Killed in Cecilia Trailer Crash That Left Community Stunned

St. Martin Parish is mourning the death of 19-year-old Jamison Phillips of Arnaudville after a violent roadway crash in the Cecilia area that turned deadly days later.

The incident happened on Monday, April 6, around noon on LA 686 Frontage Road near LA 347. According to preliminary details from authorities, Phillips was involved in a crash while riding inside a utility trailer being pulled by a pickup truck.

Investigators say the vehicle involved was a 2019 Ram 1500 traveling eastbound on LA 686. The truck was towing a utility trailer that was being used to carry a mattress at the time of the crash.

For reasons still under investigation, Phillips was inside the trailer when he was thrown out onto the roadway. The force of the incident left him with severe injuries.
