LAKE PLEASANT MOURNS VICKIE LYNN CUTLER FOUND DEAD IN WATER

Lake Pleasant in Arizona turned quiet and heavy with grief on Saturday when the body of 37-year-old Vickie Lynn Cutler was pulled from the water, leaving a community stunned and heartbroken.

Rescue crews were called to Pipeline Cove just before noon after fishermen spotted what looked like a person submerged under the surface. Divers soon found Cutler about 10 to 15 feet down, and her body was brought up from the water later that afternoon.

Personal items believed to belong to Cutler were found along Pipeline Trail near the shoreline, deepening the heartbreak for those who knew her. Authorities with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office say the investigation is active and they have not yet released an official cause of death.

For the Phoenix area, Cutler’s death is marked as the first reported drowning at a county lake or river in 2026, a grim milestone that has weighed on local hearts.

Family members and friends gathered in shock and sorrow, struggling to grasp how quickly a life could be lost. Those closest to her have shared stories of her warmth, her laugh, and the moments that made her presence in the community meaningful.

On social media and in small groups around Phoenix, people have shared memories of Cutler with love and sadness, offering prayers for her family and each other in a time that feels too heavy for words.

Neighbors say Lake Pleasant was a place they thought of for peace and beauty, not tragedy, and Cutler’s sudden death has reminded many how fragile life can be.
