Spartanburg County was shaken Tuesday night after a young woman lost her life in a shooting that unfolded quietly on a rural road and ended in heartbreak.
Deputies with the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office were called to Farm Creek Road around 9:02 p.m. The initial report described the incident as an accidental shooting. What they found instead was far more serious. A woman was lying wounded, suffering from a gunshot injury.

Emergency crews moved quickly. The victim was rushed to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center as deputies secured the scene and began asking questions. Despite doctors’ efforts, she died about an hour after arriving at the hospital.
The Spartanburg County Coroner later identified the victim as 21-year-old Skyy Ernestasjah Logan. She lived on Farm Creek Road, the same area where the shooting occurred. Friends and neighbors described the night as sudden and confusing, with flashing lights cutting through an otherwise calm evening.
Investigators have not yet said how the gun discharged or who was holding the weapon at the time. The case is still being treated with caution as deputies work to piece together exactly what happened in those moments before the shot was fired.
A forensic examination was scheduled for Wednesday morning. The coroner’s office is expected to use that process to learn more about the cause and manner of Logan’s death. Those results could shape the direction of the investigation moving forward.
So far, authorities have not announced any arrests or named any suspects. They also have not confirmed whether the shooting was truly accidental or something more serious. For now, officials say they are following the evidence and speaking with everyone involved.
For many in Spartanburg County, the loss of a 21-year-old woman has left a heavy silence. A young life ended in a matter of seconds, and a family is now facing a future forever changed as investigators search for clear answers.
