Turtlecreek Township, Ohio — A quiet stretch of State Route 741 turned into a scene of heartbreak Friday night when 17‑year‑old Dylan Sougstad of Cincinnati lost his life in a head‑on collision with a northbound SUV, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The crash happened just before 10 p.m. near milepost 6, on a rural part of the road where headlights cut through darkness and families were getting ready for the weekend.
Sougstad was behind the wheel of a 2019 Tesla Model 3, heading southbound, when the vehicle drifted left of the center line and struck a 2020 GMC Terrain driven by 53‑year‑old Chastity Smith of Trenton. Both vehicles were thrown off the roadway in opposite directions by the force of the impact, leaving wreckage scattered across both shoulders.
