Boones Mill community is in deep shock after the sudden death of 18-year-old Zebadiah Blaze Peery in a late-night crash that turned deadly on a quiet rural road in Franklin County, Virginia.
The incident happened around 1:08 a.m. on Naff Road, about one and a half miles west of Route 220. The young driver was behind the wheel of a 1999 Ford F-250 when things went wrong in a matter of seconds.

Investigators say the truck drifted off the left side of the roadway, dropped down an embankment, and overturned violently. The crash unfolded quickly, leaving almost no time for recovery or escape.
During the rollover, Zebadiah Peery was thrown from the vehicle. Authorities confirmed he was not wearing a seatbelt at the time, a detail that proved fatal in the force of the impact.
He suffered severe injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. At just 18, his life ended instantly on a dark stretch of road that locals know for its quiet and winding nature.
Friends and family are now left trying to process a loss that feels unreal. Those close to him describe a young man with a full life ahead, now reduced to memories and silence.
The Franklin County community has also been shaken, with many expressing sorrow over how quickly a normal night turned into tragedy. The grief is heavy and shared across those who knew him even slightly.
Authorities say the crash is still under investigation as they continue to piece together exactly what caused the vehicle to leave the road that night.
