Macon Crash: Harrison Doyle Morris Killed in Off-Road Truck Rollover

The quiet stretch of road near Vinson Road in Macon turned tragic Saturday evening when a crash involving a pickup truck claimed the life of a teenage boy. Authorities say 16-year-old Harrison Doyle Morris was riding in the bed of a truck when everything went wrong in a matter of seconds.

According to investigators with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the crash was reported at about 7:51 p.m. through the Macon-Bibb E-911 Center. Early findings show that a Dodge Ram 1500 was being driven off the roadway when the driver lost control while maneuvering, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Somewhere in that violent motion, Harrison was thrown from the truck. Deputies say he was found unresponsive at the scene. Emergency responders tried to help, but the injuries were too severe. Leon Jones later confirmed the teen had died at the scene.

It is the kind of loss that hits hard, not just because of how sudden it was, but because of how young Harrison was. His family has since been notified, and the community is left trying to process how a routine evening turned into something so final.

Inside the truck were three other teenagers. The 16-year-old driver, along with a front-seat passenger and a 15-year-old in the rear seat, all suffered injuries. Authorities say they were taken to a nearby hospital, but their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Investigators are still working to understand exactly what led up to the crash. Questions remain about the conditions, the speed, and the decisions made in those moments before the truck flipped.

For now, the focus remains on a life lost too soon. Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward as they continue piecing together what happened on that stretch of road.
