ANAHEIM Loses Bianca Esquivel and Her Unborn Child in a Tragic DUI Crash

ANAHEIM, Calif. — Bianca Esquivel, 24, and her unborn baby were killed early Sunday morning when a suspected drunk driver ran a red light and slammed into the car she was riding in, police said. The crash has left a family and a whole community reeling.

Bianca and her boyfriend, Oscar, had just pulled out of In‑N‑Out around 12:10 a.m. after a late‑night food run to satisfy her pregnancy cravings. They were laughing and talking about the future when a Lexus, driven by 24‑year‑old Daniel Ramos of Riverside, sped through a red light at the intersection of North Anaheim Boulevard and the SR‑91 freeway frontage road. The impact crushed the Toyota where Bianca was sitting and took her life along with the life of her unborn child.

Oscar survived but was seriously injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with a broken arm and other wounds and remains under medical care. At the scene, officers noticed Ramos showed “objective signs and symptoms of impairment.” He was arrested immediately and booked on felony DUI and vehicular manslaughter charges. Because Bianca was pregnant, authorities said prosecutors may seek additional charges as the investigation continues.

Family members described Bianca as a devoted mom to her 4‑year‑old son, a loving sister, and someone who dreamed big. She was planning to return to school to study accounting and was excited about expanding her family. Her sister Viri recounted rushing to the scene after Bianca’s phone triggered an emergency SOS alert with the exact crash location.

Outside the hospital where Oscar was treated, he shared how fast the tragedy unfolded. “We were just smiling,” he said. “She was my best friend. We were planning, buying clothes… it was so fast.” Those words have echoed in the hearts of neighbors, friends, and strangers across Southern California.

A GoFundMe campaign titled “Honoring Bianca and Her Unborn Angel” has been launched to support funeral costs, medical bills, and her young son’s future. Hundreds have already donated, showing how deeply her loss has touched people around the region.

Police continue to investigate and urge anyone who saw the crash or has information to contact the Anaheim Police Department. In the meantime, Bianca’s family and friends are left to carry forward her memory — a young life filled with hope, love, and plans now tragically cut short.
