FULLERTON: 42‑Year‑Old Man Killed in Deadly Stabbing and Hit‑and‑Run, Suspect in Custody

Euclid Street and Baker Avenue in Fullerton became the scene of a tragic and violent night Sunday, Jan. 25, when a man was killed in what police say was a stabbing and possible hit‑and‑run, followed by an arrest just miles away. The suspect, 27‑year‑old Francisco Soriano Jr., was booked on suspicion of murder after Buena Park police detained him following a hit‑and‑run crash.

Just before 9 p.m., someone called 911 saying they saw a man being attacked near the intersection of South Euclid Street and West Baker Avenue, and that the assailant might have driven over the victim after the stabbing. When Fullerton officers and fire crews arrived, they found the victim in the street with what appeared to be multiple stab wounds. Despite life‑saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police immediately broadcast a description of the possible suspect to nearby agencies. Not long after, Buena Park officers responded to a hit‑and‑run crash and took a man into custody. Detectives with the Fullerton Police Department later confirmed that the man detained in Buena Park was the same person they were seeking in connection with the deadly incident.

Authorities identified the suspect as Fullerton resident Francisco Soriano Jr., 27, and he was booked into the Fullerton Police Department Jail on suspicion of murder. At this time, officials have not released information on whether Soriano and the victim knew each other or what might have led to the attack.

The name of the victim was initially withheld by police, but later reporting from local sources identified him as 42‑year‑old Alen Sabah Odisho, an Anaheim resident. Coroner’s officials are expected to make further details public after family notifications are completed.

Witnesses at the Buena Park arrest described the suspect acting erratically during his apprehension. One person who saw the arrest said Soriano was heard repeatedly saying, “God, please forgive me,” as officers took him into custody.

Police have shut down parts of the area around Euclid and Baker while investigators collect evidence. Officials are urging anyone with information to contact the Fullerton Police Department’s homicide team or submit tips anonymously through Orange County Crime Stoppers.
