Inside a home, 31-year-old Joseph Manuel was found with fatal injuries, marking another life lost to sudden violence.
Police say the call came in around 7:45 a.m. on March 24, reporting shots fired. Responding officers moved quickly, but the scene they encountered was grim. Manuel, a Beaumont resident, had already succumbed to his injuries. The home, now sealed off, became the center of an intense and rapidly unfolding investigation.
Detectives wasted no time. Working from early leads, they developed a description of a suspect vehicle believed to be tied to the shooting. Using license plate reader technology, officers tracked the vehicle across the city. It was eventually located in the 5400 block of Pine Street.
That discovery led to the arrest of 17-year-old Bryson Parkerson. He was taken into custody without resistance and charged with tampering with evidence in connection to the case. Investigators believe his actions may have played a role in what happened after the shooting, though details remain under review.
As detectives dug deeper, reviewing surveillance footage and speaking with witnesses, a clearer picture began to form. Authorities identified 24-year-old Corey Comeaux as one of the individuals responsible for Manuel’s death. A murder warrant has now been issued, and police are actively searching for him.
