Marshall County Tragedy: Michael Stiverson, Nickii Cryer Killed in US 377 Head-On Crash

Marshall County was shaken Monday evening after a deadly head-on crash on U.S. Highway 377 claimed the lives of two men, leaving a quiet stretch of road marked by loss and flashing emergency lights.

According to Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers, a vehicle driven by Michael Stiverson, 60, of Gordonville, was traveling along U.S. 377 near Coleman Road when it suddenly crossed the center line. Troopers said the reason for the sudden drift remains unknown.

Coming from the opposite direction was a vehicle driven by Nickii Cryer, 69, of Kingston. With little time to react, the two vehicles collided head-on, a violent impact that troopers say proved fatal for both drivers.

First responders rushed to the scene within minutes. Marshall County Sheriff Donald Yow confirmed that multiple emergency vehicles, including deputies, troopers, and medical crews, responded to the crash as traffic came to a standstill.

Both Stiverson and Cryer were pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities did not release information about seatbelt use or whether speed or impairment played a role, noting that the investigation is still ongoing.

The crash forced a temporary shutdown of U.S. 377 as crews worked to clear the wreckage and document the scene. Drivers in the area were rerouted for some time as the roadway slowly reopened.

For residents who know the highway well, the crash was a sobering reminder of how quickly routine travel can turn tragic. By nightfall, the road was quiet again, but the loss of two lives lingered heavily over the community.

Troopers say the investigation will continue as they work to determine what caused Stiverson’s vehicle to cross the center line, turning an ordinary Monday evening into a fatal moment for two Oklahoma families.
