The Hanover Township community is grieving the heartbreaking loss of Brooke Schuler, a 29-year-old woman whose life was cut short in a devastating crash early Thursday morning.
The fatal collision happened around 6:52 a.m. on State Route 177, just south of Vizedom Road in Hanover Township, Ohio. Emergency crews from the Butler County Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a serious crash involving two vehicles.
Investigators said Brooke was driving a 2011 Kia Soul northbound on State Route 177 when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the southbound lane. The Kia then collided head-on with a 2011 Jeep Cherokee traveling in the opposite direction.
The force of the impact caused severe damage to both vehicles. Authorities said Brooke suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Jeep, a 20-year-old man, was injured and later sought treatment at a local hospital.
Because of the severity of the crash, the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team was called in to conduct a detailed investigation. Officials are still working to determine what caused the Kia to cross left of center before the collision.
