San Antonio Daniel Ordonez Case: Father Found Dead, Son Arrested After Alleged Cover-Up

A quiet welfare check in San Antonio turned into something far more troubling when police uncovered the body of 54-year-old Daniel Antonio Ordonez inside a property tied to his own family. What began as concern from a relative quickly unraveled into a case now centered on his son, 31-year-old Daniel Sebastian Ordonez, who authorities say tried to hide what happened.

It started when an out-of-town family member could not reach the older Ordonez and asked police to step in. Officers tracked signals from his phone and smartwatch, leading them to one of his rental properties. There, they found his truck sitting still, marked by a bullet hole through the driver’s side window. That detail alone signaled something was very wrong.

Police then made their way to the home where Daniel Antonio Ordonez lived with his son. What they found inside pushed the case into darker territory. In a structure at the back of the property, officers came across a large black trash bag that was leaking blood. Inside that bag was the body of the missing father.

Investigators quickly noticed signs that someone had tried to erase what happened. There were drag marks across parts of the property. There were also visible attempts to clean up. But when crime scene teams used chemical agents, a clearer picture emerged. Blood traces showed up across multiple areas, including the laundry room, hallway, bathroom, and even outside the home.

The medical examiner later confirmed that Daniel Antonio Ordonez died from a gunshot wound to the head. His death was officially ruled a homicide, adding weight to what investigators were already piecing together inside the home.

As the investigation deepened, police reviewed surveillance footage from nearby stores. They say the footage shows the son purchasing items like duct tape, concrete mix, a shovel, a sleeping bag, and cleaning supplies. According to investigators, those purchases appear to align with efforts to conceal the body and clean the scene.

About a week after the discovery, Daniel Sebastian Ordonez was arrested. He now faces charges of tampering with evidence and failing to report human remains. Authorities have not charged him with murder at this stage, and the investigation remains active as detectives continue working to fully understand what led to the father’s death.
