Sparta, Georgia — A quiet Tuesday morning turned tragic on Highway 22 when 28-year-old Kiamber Usry lost her life in a single-vehicle crash that has left Hancock County in mourning. The incident happened around 2:50 a.m., according to local officials.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene after reports of a serious crash involving one vehicle. Usry was found injured and quickly transported to Atrium Health Baldwin for urgent medical care.
Despite efforts by medical staff, she later died from her injuries. She was pronounced dead at 5:16 a.m. in the emergency room.

Officials with the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that no other vehicles were involved. The crash was isolated to a single car, and investigators responded to assist at the scene.
Coroner Dontrelle Andrews identified Usry and confirmed the timeline of events. He also noted she was well known in the Sparta community and remembered for her years as a standout basketball player at Central Hancock High School.
