Perris, Calif. is grappling with an unbearable tragedy after 3‑month‑old Leon Edgington Morales was killed in a crash on the northbound I‑215 freeway Sunday evening. The tight‑knit community is reeling as family, friends, and neighbors struggle to make sense of a loss that came far too soon.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., emergency crews from the California Highway Patrol and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department rushed to the scene just south of Eucalyptus Avenue. Leon, riding in a vehicle with his family, was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was confirmed once his closest family members were notified.
