Greenville is reeling after 21-year-old Tony Parker Jr. was shot and killed in the afternoon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. Police say they were called just before 3:50 p.m. about a person lying in the street on the 1900 block of Lowe’s Road. When officers arrived, they found Parker with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Friends and relatives later identified the young man who had become yet another life cut short in this Mississippi city. The Greenville Police Department confirmed that this was the first homicide in the city so far this year, and the investigation remains active.

Investigators have also learned that Parker’s 2022 Toyota Camry was taken during the incident. The next day, on February 4, the vehicle was found abandoned near the intersection of Causey Drive and Baskin Drive, police said.
Police are not yet announcing suspects or arrests. They’ve teamed up with the Department of Homeland Security and the U.S. Attorney’s Office to go through every shred of evidence and follow leads wherever they point. Chief Marcus Turner Sr. said the department’s goal is justice and closure for Parker’s loved ones.
The community is being asked to help. Anyone with information is urged to call Crime Stoppers at (662) 378-TIPS (8477). Tipsters can stay anonymous, and there’s a reward of up to $2,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
People in Greenville and beyond have been left saddened by Parker’s death. Those who knew him talk about the hole his loss leaves in family gatherings, friendships, and the neighborhood where he grew up and lived.
As the case continues to unfold, Parker’s story has struck a chord with many who see too many young lives stolen by gun violence. Police say tips — even small pieces of information — could turn the investigation around.
