Angelika Anahi Loredo was only 26 years old. She was a young woman with her whole life ahead of her. Everything was cut short on a Thursday evening. The southwest Houston community is completely heartbroken over the loss.
It all went down around 6:00 p.m. The tragedy happened in an apartment complex located in the 8700 block of Gustine Lane. Neighbors never expected a regular weeknight to turn into a horrific crime scene.
Police officers rushed to the apartment after getting desperate calls. People reported a shooting inside one of the units. When the cops finally walked through the door, they found Angelika dead from a clear gunshot wound.
The most heartbreaking part of this entire tragedy involves the three small children. Two 10-year-olds and a tiny 3-year-old were inside the home when the weapon went off. They had to witness the absolute unimaginable.
According to investigators, the kids heard the loud blast from inside the residence. They immediately knew something was terribly wrong. They bolted out of the apartment and ran straight to a nearby relative’s place to call 911.
The children were thankfully not physically hurt during the incident. However, the emotional trauma they are carrying is beyond words. Right now, family members and close friends are wrapping their arms around them to offer support.
Everyone who knew Angelika is remembering her as a sweet soul gone way too soon. The entire neighborhood is completely stunned by the news. Her passing leaves a massive void that loved ones say will never be filled.
