The sudden death of 27-year-old Jeffrey Bowman has turned a quiet Connecticut family’s world completely upside down. He lost his life early Saturday morning in a terrible wrong-way crash on a dark Massachusetts highway. Now, his closest friends and loved ones are left trying to deal with an unbearable amount of grief.
The tragic event took place right around 1:00 a.m. in the small town of Millbury, Massachusetts. What started out as an ordinary weekend drive quickly spiraled into a devastating head-on collision on Route 146. Back home in Southington, the people who grew up with Jeffrey are still processing the shock of the news.

According to the local district attorney’s office, everything began to fall apart on Interstate 90 westbound. A state trooper spotted Jeffrey’s vehicle and attempted to perform a routine traffic stop. Jeffrey initially pulled over to the side of the highway, but things quickly escalated from there.
As the state trooper walked up toward the car, Jeffrey suddenly hit the gas and sped away into the darkness. The trooper immediately radioed in the escape, prompting law enforcement to issue an urgent alert for every officer in the area to be on the lookout.
About twelve minutes passed before anyone saw the car again. State police finally spotted the vehicle, but it had already entered Route 146. It was traveling south directly inside the northbound lanes, heading straight toward oncoming traffic in the middle of the night.
Troopers desperately tried to find a way to stop the speeding car before a disaster happened, even trying to deploy spike strips on the asphalt. Their efforts were not enough to prevent the crash, and Jeffrey’s car slammed directly into another passenger vehicle near the exit 17 ramps.
Emergency workers rushed to the scene of the wreck, but Jeffrey passed away from the severe injuries he sustained. The driver of the other vehicle survived the impact and was treated for injuries that were not life-threatening. A young life was cut short in an instant, leaving a family to mourn a deep and painful loss.”””)
