Alexander Pulinario, Springfield: Promising 18-year-old dies after late-night Lebanon Street ambush.

The Springfield community is dealing with a heavy loss this week. A local family is totally heartbroken after a sudden act of violence took a young life way too soon. Alexander Pulinario was just 18 years old when he was shot and killed over the weekend.

It all went down late Friday night on Lebanon Street. The area is usually quiet around that time, but everything changed in an instant when gunshots rang out. Alexander was right in the middle of it.

Police got the alert around 11:30 p.m. through their automated gunshot detection system. When officers rushed to the 100 block of Lebanon Street, they found the teenager suffering from severe, life-threatening wounds. It was a chaotic scene as emergency workers tried desperately to save him.

Paramedics rushed Alexander to Baystate Medical Center. Doctors and nurses worked through the night to keep him alive. Sadly, his injuries were just too severe, and he passed away the following morning.

Another young man was also injured in the same burst of gunfire. He managed to get himself to the hospital separately. Thankfully, officials say his injuries are not life-threatening, but he is still recovering from the trauma.

Now, a local family is left planning a funeral they never expected. Friends and classmates are flooding social media with tributes, remembering Alexander as a good kid with a bright future ahead of him. The loss has sent shockwaves through the entire neighborhood.

As the community grieves, the family is asking for privacy during an incredibly difficult time. They plan to announce memorial services soon, while everyone who knew Alexander tries to process a reality without him.
