Around 9:45 p.m. on May 1, a single car veered off Poplar Hill Road near the Merrymans Mill intersection, slamming into a tree and ending the life of 18-year-old Ryan Duvall. By the time emergency crews arrived, the scene had already turned heartbreaking.
Police say the car was heading southbound when it suddenly left the roadway. There’s still no clear answer as to why. Investigators are working through the details, trying to piece together what caused the vehicle to lose control in that moment.
